Secure Storage

The MTS Cryo Stores biological sample storage facility has 24 hour security and their freezers are accessible only by authorised personnel. Your specimens are continually monitored for variation in the temperature range required to maintain their minimum critical threshold. If there is a malfunction or system failure, prior to reaching the minimum critical threshold, the monitoring system will immediately notify staff and direct them to the freezer in question for the resolution of the problem. Records of all action taken are detailed with regard to the fault. Back-up freezers/LN2 units are available to support the transfer of specimens in the event of a total equipment failure. All critical equipment and computer hardware are backed up with uninterrupted power supply (UPS) units and there is a diesel generator capable of providing power supply to all the freezers in the facility.

We are currently supporting the Caudwell Xtreme Everest Expedition, by storing their samples long term. This is an exciting project which we were happy to support due to the nature of the research.

  • High-security environment including access control system, motion detectors, smoke detectors, and CCTV surveillance
  • Guaranteed temperature integrity controlled with electronic temperature logging with a monitoring interval of 5 minutes and continual monitoring by paper chart recorder.
